Sandpits Cemetery, Fouqueureuil

Born Bathgate in November 1899. The son of Robert Borrowman, a labourer at the paper mill and his wife Marion Ronald, The Loan, Torphichen. Shown as "Barrowman" on war memorial although the name is placed alphabetically where it should be.

The newspaper obituary, (West Lothian Courier), states:

Above is a portrait of Pte. Thomas Borrowman, Scottish Rifles, son of Mrs. Borrowman, Torphichen, who was killed on 27th June. He joined up in the early days of the war. He has other two brothers serving.
